Whether resolving disputes for Fortune 500 companies or individuals and small businesses, Kevin’s focus remains serving his client’s best interests by providing practical solutions to their problems in a forthright, cost-effective, and timely manner.
Kevin’s civil litigation practice encompasses business and commercial litigation, complex securities, oil and gas litigation, insurance coverage, construction disputes, employment law, deceptive trade practices, contractual, and other disputes. His litigation experience includes both jury trials and arbitrations, and Kevin also has extensive experience with electronic discovery matters. Kevin’s experience as a corporate attorney in Houston spans a variety of transactional matters across industries, including compliance, corporate governance, and entity formation.
- Obtained favorable confidential settlement for Fortune 10 global bank, as defendant in a multimillion dollar action brought by an international private wealth group client alleging, among other things, breach of contract, fiduciary duty, and various securities claims.
- Successfully enforced guaranty for Fortune 100 global bank, as plaintiff in an arbitration action, seeking payment of a former financial services client’s personal guaranty on a note of over $20 million.
- Obtained favorable confidential settlement for publicly-traded oil and gas services company, as defendant and counter-plaintiff, seeking breach of contract damages resulting from unpaid accounts and damaged property nationwide.
- Acquired temporary restraining order, temporary injunction, and confidential settlement for an international direct selling company, as plaintiff in an unfair competition action against a competing company and former employee seeking injunctive relief and monetary damages.
- Obtained multiple favorable confidential settlements for national insurance carrier, as defendant in first party actions by insureds for property damage, deceptive trade practices, and unfair insurance practices.
- Obtained payments for several construction companies, as plaintiffs asserting materials and other liens for unpaid claims, against property owners and general contractors.
- Obtained substantial settlements for a variety of individuals and families in personal injury, wrongful death, and survival actions, seeking damages for work related injuries outside of workers compensation, motor vehicle incidents involving death and serious injury, maritime and other injuries.
- Advised a spectrum of businesses from national companies to individual entrepreneurs on transactional issues related to their respective industry, including compliance with applicable regulations, best practices, corporate governance and entity formation.
