About Zach
Overview
Since beginning his practice in 2021, Zach has handled a wide variety of matters, including appeals, cannabis regulatory issues, civil rights, commercial litigation, corporate governance, divorce, personal injury defense, mergers and acquisitions, and even criminal defense.
Recently described by a witness he cross-examined at trial as “the guy I’d call if I ever got sued,” Zach believes that good things happen to good people who do things the right way—even if you have to take it to a jury.
Zach helps his clients resolve problems—whether that problem is a commercial transaction, litigation, or something in between.
He has drafted and negotiated all types of business transactions and litigated disputes arising from them. He has defeated frivolous lawsuits through dispositive motions and at trial, obtained favorable settlements in complex commercial disputes, and represented clients successfully at every stage of litigation—pre-suit, trial, and appeal. Zach also assists businesses in obtaining the licenses and regulatory approvals necessary to operate and grow, providing ongoing counsel every step of the way.
Experience
Zach began his career as an associate and later junior partner at a boutique cannabis M&A and commercial litigation firm in Denver, Colorado. After relocating to Houston in 2024, he joined Hoover Slovacek LLP as an associate before moving to Bush & Ramirez.
