Steven B. Tran

Steven B. Tran obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Duke School of Law in 1999. He started his career at Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP in its litigation section and operated his own law office prior to joining Bush & Ramirez, PLLC.

About Steven

Overview

Steven has represented a large array of clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to global conglomerates in state and federal courts. He has served as lead counsel in a broad range of cases including commercial, contracts, landlord-tenant, and construction cases. His experience includes representing companies and individuals in cases involving energy litigation, personal injury, international arbitration, occupational and environmental chemical exposure, asbestos, products liability, pharmaceuticals, and contract matters.

Experience

Mr. Tran has been active in the political landscape for over 15 years. He served as President of the Asian-American Democrats of Texas for three years and sat on advisory boards to numerous national, statewide, and local candidates and elected officials. He was appointed to a position in Mayor Bill White’s administration. He served as the Harris County Democratic Party’s liaison for Asian media. He has appeared on Little Saigon Radio multiple times to discuss politics.

Mr. Tran has also been active in the business community as well. He previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce in Houston and the Board of Directors of the Bayou City Arts Festival. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the charity organization Houston Halloween Festival.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained judgment for precious metals company in international breach of contract suit involving the purchase and sale of thousands of metric tons of gold.
  • Obtained judgment in multiple cases for real-estate holding and management companies in Houston and Galveston areas in contract and landlord/tenant cases.
  • Obtained confidential settlement for group of real estate investors in suit against general contractor and bank involving negligent construction and misappropriation of funds.
  • Defense counsel for numerous multi-national corporations involving product liability suits.
  • Counsel for prosthetics company for all general legal matters.
  • Counsel for majority share-holders of automotive company in corporate theft suit against minority share-holder.
  • Counsel for chain restaurant against neighboring tenant and general contractor involving negligent construction and breach of contract.
  • Counsel for numerous major energy-related companies involved in breach of contract litigation and tort litigation.
  • Counsel for large computer company against general contactor involving multi-million dollar construction defects.
