Overview
Matt Childs was admitted to practice in November, 1991. Since starting his practice, Mr. Childs has focused on civil litigation and trial. He has tried over 70 cases to verdict. His cases cover a broad area of civil litigation including such areas as personal injury, trucking litigation, wrongful death, construction defect, product liability, premises liability, automobile accidents, breach of contract, property damage, insurance coverage, employment issues, commercial litigation, and numerous appeals. He has handled cases throughout the Eastern, Southern, and Western District of Texas.
Experience
In 1997, Mr. Childs was awarded the Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law. In 2003, Mr. Childs was awarded the rank of Associate in the American Board of Trial Advocates, which verifies his colleagues having found him to possess the requisite skill, integrity and experience in the special art of advocacy for his clients.
Mr. Childs has directly resolved over a thousand cases through trial, summary judgment, and settlement, with more than 50 jury trials as first chair. He has worked on many multimillion dollar claims and defended many wrongful death and significant personal injury cases, product liability cases, premises liability cases, and commercial litigation claims.
Mr. Childs assists in training younger associates in courtroom skills and tactics. He generally overseas and insurance defense docket, several self-insured clients, as well as a commercial litigation practice.
